Mary Quant part 4

December 16, 2006

Timing chain, gears and pensioner are worn. Water pump and thermostat are corroded.

Replacing gaskets and seals where possible

The engines not bad inside.

The clutch cover looks fresh

It's going to be hard to get it as clean as I want.

Zack using the drill press to lap ball joints.

Every things in order let's get started

Back with the jig and a freshly painted hub.

Make sure all the lapping compound is cleaned out.

Once fitted and torqued fold up the loc tab.

All done and waiting for the bearings.

It's important if you lap the balls to cut a couple of small grooves with a Dremil so the grease can flow though.

I'll add a pic in the next batch.
