Make sure the cap is on the right way around the locking tabs to the same side of the rod,

and oil the threads and area where the nut seats.

I use a dab of moly lube and lots of oil.

I torque as I go; big journal rods take less torque than S rods.

Looking better all the time. Be sure to oil the rings and cylinders as you assemble

I go right down the line.

I fill the oil drillings in the crank as I go. I have an oil can I keep in a freezer bag just for assembly.

Oh, yes, the missing cookie sheet keeps down the mess.

I buy the better lifters in bulk; you can do some select fitting this way.
