Street or race I don't install pistons without Swain Tech, PC 9 skirt coating

Make sure all rods are matched to proper cap.

Yes, I wash rod and piston assemblies with soapy water rinse.

Make sure to blow dry with special care towards getting water out of pins.

After drying work oil into pins.

Great care should be taken in locating ring gaps and loading compressor.

Clean housing bore and seat bearing and install bolt boots.

Rod bolt boots are from Federal Mogul sold by local machine shop about a buck each.

I locate the crank pin at the bottom of the stroke.

Once the bearing is seated on the crank the boots can be removed.

Same with the cap, remove any varnish with worn 220 emery wipe with acetone and snap bearing in place
